Family Minis FAQ
As we enter such a beautiful fall season, we are also entering into another amazing season … FAMILY MINIS!! The weather is getting cooler, the scenery is changing and the air just smells fresher. This is the most perfect time to do family minis! Each year I get a lot of beautiful questions about my family minis; How do they work? How are they different? What kind of backdrop? What can I use them for? So, I have decided let’s just put them all together in one beautiful blog post. However, if you have any more questions feel free to always ask. No question is silly & I am always happy to help. Now, let’s dive in.
What Are Family Minis?
My family minis are exactly that. Mini versions of a big family session. My family sessions include 1 outfit & 1 location. You will still receive both print and web images on a downloadable shareable link, just like bigger sessions. However, just because it is a mini session, does not mean you wont get all the most precious photos you would need or want. These sessions start out as a family and will end with a big family group pose. Everything in the middle will all about each individual in your family, even if that includes a furry friend.
What Kind Of Backdrop Or Theme?
So, there is actually not a backdrop or theme for my family minis. You will be able to pick what kind of vibe you want for your session. Do you want them in nature, downtown or maybe even at your house? Together we will create a vibe for your session. Most families only have time for one session a year & my goal is for you to be able to use them for more than just Christmas Cards, but to actually use them as gifts, refresh the photos in your house or whatever your heart desires. Can we add a touch of Christmas? Absolutely, but it will be something that is personal or unique to you and your family. Disclaimer: I do love the backdrop theme sessions. I think they are beautiful and so darling. So, please do not think I do not support those sessions …. I most definitely do. However, I have learned this is what works best for my business.
How will the process work?
Ahhhh what an adventure this session will be. So, once we have picked the vibe that works best for you and your family, and picked a date, we will start working through what kind of outfits you are going to be wearing. Once again, the vibe and even outfits will be unique to you and your family. At your session, we will create an experience that works best for your family. Make it simple on the husbands and kids, but meaningful and enjoyable for you, mommas. Once the session has come to an end I will send over sneak peaks in 24-48 hours from your session. Then your full collection will be sent in 5-7 business days. (However, the closer we are to Christmas, the faster the turnaround time is)
These sessions are very near and dear to my heart. I am a big believer in family sessions, but also taking them consistently throughout the years. To see each member of your family change is such a beautiful thing. I sure hope this answered most of your questions, but if not no worries I am always happy to help.
