Why Does Everyone Get A Grad Outfit Picture?

Okie so at EVERY senior session (unless we have chatted about it) gets a GRAD OUTFIT PHOTO! Wait, in fact you’ll receive about 4!

First let’s chat about what a grad outfit is. A grad outfit is where you have all your grad items on; cap, gown, stole and/or cords. For girls you will keep your gown unzipped and guys will zip theirs up. You will have a smiling photo, a photo with a hand sign (if your school has one) and if your family and friends come with you then you will get a photo with them as well. 

Now the … WHY!

Why do I make everyone with a cap and gown take a grad photo? Because your mom, grandma and/or family are the ones that want them. That is not the only reason why, but that is for sure the main reason why. They have watched you be so successful and they deserve to have a photo with you completely all done up. However, don’t worry I will of course take those trendy fun grad outfit photos that you will want as well.

The other reason why everyone gets a grad out photo is because on the actual graduation day things can get a little crazy, the weather might act sassy or certain people might not be able to make the graduation, but will get to make it to grad photos. I do this because I have been there. I know the craziness and the stress of the actual graduation day. My hope is knowing you already have a professional photo of you in your graduation outfit or with your family, that way it takes all the stress away.

No matter how you feel about grad photos these photos start your session off and will start the story of your collection off. So, even if you truly do not want them, that's ok it will only take a few moments and I will also teach you how to make it look the most flattering when you do take photos after graduation. I know this blog is short and to the point, but my hope is this blog will bring you peace of mind and will give you a little insight on cap and gown photos.
